PURPOSE:To perform a recording dependent upon high-frequency power in a compact and cheap constitution by using a high frequency oscillator, a multiplier, a power amplifier, etc., which constitute a facsimile unit for picture signal transmission commonly. CONSTITUTION:The high frequency output generated by oscillator 1 has the frequency multiplied by multiplier 2 and is inputted to power amplifier 3 as a carrier wave. Meanwhile, picture signals read by read element 4 in original scanning are amplified by amplifier 5 and are modulated by amplitude modulator 6 through selector switch SW1 and are inputted to power amplifier 3. The modulated wave which is subjected to amplitude modulation there by picture signals is transmitted to the transmission line through switches SW2 and SW3 after power amplification. In the receiving side, signals received through the R terminal of switch SW3 are amplified by amplifier 7 and are demodulated by detector 8 to take out picture signals, and they are inputted to amplifier 3 through modulator 6 again. The high frequency output modulated by picture signals in amplifier 3 is applied to recording electrode 10 through the R terminal of switch SW2 and impedance matching equipment 9, and picture signals are recorded on recording paper 11.
